Model Aircraft are not just toys. The model is a real plane, which operates in the same air and by the same aerodynamic principles as the full size counterpart. The only difference is size and weight. Just as there bigger brothers they need a learned skill to properly and safely operated.

With advances in technology recently, the now possible to build and fly a radio control model of a power system associated with the model. For example, micro-turbines are now available for jet and turbine models turbine powered helicopters and prop. Miniature gas radial engines produced for the exact look and sound of the WW2 era.

Competition is also a large part of this hobby. For those so inclined, there is worldwide competition held on a regular basis for nearly all disciplines. Records are verified by the FAI is the recognized keeper of all aerospace related things in the world.
