Will produce more thrust screws if I were neck and neck.?
Hi, I want to build my own RC plane model of a 4-engine instead of real jet engines, propellers im going to use but still have the case around it like a real jet engine so it looks closer to a jet engine. I had an idea there are so many shortcomings in the case because a screw are not taking up much space, I could screw some more to add in quick succession. Would that increase the thrust my plane and would produce performance by having only 4 propeller thrust produces only about 1 / 30 the weight of the aircraft. 24 but would propellers produce thrust of about 1 / 5 the weight of the aircraft.
The short answer is: No. In order to minimize loss of thrust with a single screw make the inner diameter of the "case" as close to the screw diameter as possible, leaving enough clearance that the propeller does not rub against the case, of course. To increase thrust, you would either use larger motors to drive the propellers, OR: If the propeller is only slightly load the engine, changing the propeller blades or type (ie, squirrel-cage) so the propeller loads the engine more completely.
