model jet boat engines

Buying a used sailboat can go two ways – it can be either a bargain or it may prove to be a huge money pit. Of course, everyone wants to find that great bargain they can brag about their sailing friends. This article will help you understand the important things you should consider when purchasing a used sailboat. If you are new to sailing and would not know that a well-crafted an inflatable boat, consider using an experienced professional to help you inspect the boat. It will be worth the investment, and you'll probably training in the process.
Building Material
The important thing to remember with sailboat materials to prevent the wood. It is difficult and expensive to maintain, in addition to hiding defects which can not be detected without tearing it apart. Fiberglass would be the best choice. Although some claim that a fiber sailboat is "maintenance free" This is hardly true. Plan on spending a few days each year on maintenance which could include the application of antifouling paint the bottom (the growth of barnacles and algae prevention), regular waxing the topsides with a great navy to prevent oxidation of the gelcoat, teak varnishing every year trim, regular inspection of the mast and rigging (about as often as your car tuned up), the annual inspection of your sails by your sailmaker any minor repair service cracks or tears, and regular maintenance of engines.
If you're not a fan of fiberglass, you can also consider steel. Be careful to inspect for rust. This is a problem you do not want. There are also boats made of a material called ferro-cement. Ferro-cement is the least expensive construction for boats over 25 meters. This construction methods using steel wires covered with sand and cement plaster. But unless you build this boat itself, steer clear of this as they are usually built by amateurs.
Motor
Only consider boats with newer engines, older or vintage motorcycles will be difficult to find replacement parts for space. While it may be tempting to a vintage model real self, how much time and money you are willing to spend on maintenance evaluation.
The most reliable engine test is the "Smoke Test". Well maintained diesel will blow small amounts of black smoke with a little white – especially when started cold. However, steer clear of diesels blow blue smoke or a steady stream of white smoke. While diesels are generally very reliable, they do require regular maintenance. Ask for maintenance records for oil changes, etc. must Petrol leak and a bilge blower that works well. Again, ask for maintenance records.
Sails and Rigging
The only way to ensure that the sails are in good repair is to remove them from their pockets and they are spread on a flat surface. Look for mildew, earlier repairs, worn spots, drew stabbing and broken slides. Make sure the winch is working smoothly. Inspect worn pins and fasteners, worn lines, frayed wires and broken blocks. Hoist the sails, if possible, everything works proper order.
Miscellaneous
Look for leaks around hatches and portholes. These can be costly repairs to have later on unloading. Someone who really knows Check the electrical wiring. This too can be expensive to be determined later, or even dangerous if a fire breaks out while on the water. Check to see if there are no wires around the mast hit – this can certainly keep you at night if you're a light sleeper.
Conclusion
Just remember if you used a sailboat that you really are in the driver's seat purchases. Most sellers are usually in one of two scenarios: They have to upgrade to a larger boat or they get out of the sails at all. Anyway, they are pretty motivated to sell. Not pay more than necessary. Start with a low offer and see if they counter. If buying through an auction website, do not get caught the passion of the bids. There are plenty of boats for sale, so if you do not win the first auction, do not give up.
Use a sailboat reliable carrier to ensure your new purchase arrives in the same condition you bought it in. And, above all, enjoy your new boat. Nothing beats a day at the water!

Jet Boat operating temperature: LT1 Chevrolet 350Ci possibly running too hot?
We are running a jet boat setup with a heat exchanger. It is a 1992-1994 Chevrolet 350, from a standard Corvette. All other LT1 meters suggest that the boat runs fine. – The boat is currently between 180 210 degrees Fahrenheit (82-99 degrees Celsius) and we fear that this could run the engine too hot. Will this damage the engine temperature remains range or is this the norm for a late model 350? PS. higher temperatures ranging action PS at a higher speed. It is not running a thermostat
210 is not a problem, 180 is a bit low, because the metal is not to include a good working distances. That's why you need a thermostat to get the temperature up. The antifreeze boiling point of water is approximately 225. In a car thermostat opens at the preset temperature, but the coolant is usually a few degrees above that temperature. Normal oil temperature is in the 220s Actually coolant temperature is a secondary indication of the engine. Cylinder head temperature is the primary one. If you are concerned about engine temperature then I would suggest installing a cylinder head temperature gauge and an oil temperature gauge. Cheap and easy to install.
